May 18, 2026

The Music Department at Perpich Arts High School closed out the school year with “Sound Works IV”, the fourth and final concert of the season, presented on May 14th and 15th. The performances showcased both original compositions and covers created by students in their small ensembles during the fourth quarter, highlighting months of collaboration, experimentation, and artistic growth.
Students brought confidence and creativity to the stage, performing a wide range of music with strong ensemble chemistry and energy. Principal Rebecca Bullen described the concert as “a celebration of musical exploration,” praising students for their willingness to take creative risks.
“They continue to push themselves creatively, navigating great joy and courage in the experimentation and willingness to try something new,” Bullen said. “This final concert shows how much these students have grown, not only technically, but in their ability to trust themselves.”
For many performers, the concerts were also a meaningful way to close out the school year together. “There were such great ensembles with awesome chemistry this quarter,” said Mie Morimoto (Music 2026). “Great concerts to end the year.”
Embden Zapko (Music 2026) reflected on the emotional impact of the experience. “It was the most fun I’ve ever had performing,” Zapko said. “I love my friends and am so glad I got to do this with them.”
Congratulations to all of the music students and instructors on a memorable finale to the year!
